  2020 Fly-In Update
Posted by: jessica.warren - 03-16-2020, 02:15 PM - Forum: General Discussion - No Replies

In an effort to help combat the COVID-19 outbreak, Composite-FX has indefinitely postponed our 2020 Factory Fly-In event scheduled for March 28 & 29, 2020.  We will continue to monitor the situation and reschedule the event when appropriate. The team at Composite-FX also urges our customers, fans, vendors and business partners to be vigilant, as we look forward to our next chance to celebrate helicopter aviation and fellowship.

  Greetings, questions and posting etiquette...
Posted by: William Kline - 03-08-2020, 04:55 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (4)

Hello members,

I have been following experimental helicopters since the mid 1990's and I feel the time has finally come for me to get my feet wet.

I am planning to either purchase a used XET or buy a new kit. If i go the kit route, I may choose either builders assist or factory built in the interest of time constraints.
I have started training (again), R22 and am incredibly fortunate to have a friend with a Jetranger who occasionally makes my day by allowing me some stick time.

I have many questions regarding the XET's  and would like advice as far as the best way to post here.
Would it be better to simply list out multiple questions in one general post or is it better to breakdown every question individually into a more specific category?

I am not a big forum person and it seems that every one is a little different as far as personalities and etiquette goes so i would like a little guidance so i can participate comfortably within this group.

Thank you in advance for allowing me to join and participate here.

  t62-2a1 for sale
Posted by: turbinetech - 02-29-2020, 03:48 AM - Forum: Fuel and Engine - No Replies

I have a solar t62-2a1 that is in very good condition. It is currently on a test stand and I can demonstrate it running.  I am asking 14K if you want the starter, alternator accessory drive, custom exhaust and spline output shaft. For those wanting to put a 2a1 in a mosquito helicopter, you do not need these parts, and the price is 9500 without. My number is 661 428-1850. Jason

The link below is a current youtube video of the engine running.

  My Mosquito Videos
Posted by: Dick Campbell - 02-27-2020, 03:47 PM - Forum: Video Vault - Replies (6)

I finally got a GoPro type camera, so I have started loading my videos to my youtube channel "AeroEng Guy".  I also posted one of them to the Mosquito Facebook Group.  Here's a link to my most recent flight:

I plan to document some of my flight testing as I complete my Phase I.

Mosquito pilots,  I thought this video was particularly relevant to us considering our history and that most of us fly pretty low most of the time.

  Posting an image

Aloha Gang,

A member asked for tips on how to post an image. I use to be able to post images to a thread but it did now work for me. The next best way is to post to your personal Gallery. The Gallery will allow you to ad a larger image (image no larger than 1.25 GB). I posted an image to my Gallery and will include a link so it is easy to find. There are other ways to post images, so chime in and tell us your way!

New member introduction and ask for help
Posted by: Valy - 02-04-2020, 03:56 PM - Forum: General Discussion - Replies (17)

Hi everyone,
I'm new here and to helicopters, and would like to introduce myself.
I'm in the SF Bay area, California. I've been doing a lot of mechanical work on cars, completely rebuilt several motors and pretty good with mechanics in general.
This is my first adventure supporting flying machines. In my military service I was trained to take them down, so hope that instinct goes away ?

I found an XE for sale locally and wondered if there's any local (SF Bay area) member that could help with an inspection?

Thanks and looking forward to flying with you soon.
